What areas do you cover?
Although I am based in Hereford, West Midlands, I travel extensively across the UK and abroad to capture weddings. In fact, many of the weddings I cover are located further afield. To ensure punctuality and avoid any unforeseen issues, I always travel to the wedding location the day before the event. For destination weddings, I typically arrive two days in advance, ensuring ample time for preparation and familiarization with the venue.
How long have you been photographing and filming weddings?
I have been passionately immersed in the wedding industry since 2009. Over the years, my dedication to wedding photography has steadily grown, and I now have the privilege of capturing 40 to 60 weddings every season, depending on the year. Despite my extensive experience, I remain humble and committed to continual growth and learning. I firmly believe that every day presents an opportunity to enhance my skills and refine my craft. Whether it’s mastering new equipment and technologies or evolving my shooting techniques, I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of my profession, ensuring that each wedding I capture exceeds expectations.
Are you insured?
Absolutely. I prioritize the utmost professionalism and peace of mind for my clients, which is why I maintain comprehensive insurance coverage. I hold both public liability and professional indemnity insurance, ensuring protection for both myself and my clients throughout the wedding process. Additionally, as a licensed drone pilot, I understand the importance of adhering to regulations and safety measures. Therefore, I also carry drone insurance, meeting the requirements of wedding venues and guaranteeing a seamless and worry-free experience for all involved.
Is there a booking fee?
Yes, to secure your wedding date, I require a booking fee. The specific amount varies depending on the package you select. This booking fee serves to reserve your date exclusively and is deducted from the total balance of your chosen package. The remaining balance is then due 8 weeks prior to your wedding date, ensuring ample time for planning and coordination.
How far in advance do we book?
It’s essential to secure your preferred wedding photographer and/or videographer well in advance, particularly for weekend weddings during the peak season from May to September. I highly recommend initiating your search for favorite suppliers approximately two years before your wedding date. This allows ample time to explore various options, ensure availability, and secure the services of professionals who perfectly align with your vision and expectations.
Should we book an engagement session?
Yes, absolutely! Many couples understandably feel a bit nervous or apprehensive about being photographed, especially if it’s their first time having professional photos taken. Booking an engagement session provides a wonderful opportunity for us to get acquainted with each other. It allows you to become comfortable with me and in front of my camera, ensuring that you feel relaxed and at ease on your wedding day.

Should we book a second photographer / videographer?

Do we need to feed you on the day? Do you have any specific requirements?
I must admit, I have a soft spot for good food, especially when working hard to capture the magic of your wedding day. While I don’t necessarily require a lavish three-course meal, I truly appreciate being provided with a hot meal during the festivities.
Having a hot meal ensures that I can recharge and continue to provide you with exceptional service throughout the day. As for specific dietary requirements, I’m happy to say that I have no restrictions or allergies, so you can rest assured that any meal provided will be thoroughly enjoyed.

What happens if your camera breaks?
Rest assured, I come prepared for any situation, including equipment malfunctions. I bring three cameras, multiple flashguns, lenses, and an abundance of memory cards and batteries to every wedding. This level of preparation ensures that I can seamlessly continue capturing your special moments in the unlikely event of a camera or equipment failure.
With redundancy built into my gear setup, you can trust that I have backup options readily available to maintain uninterrupted coverage of your wedding day. Your peace of mind is paramount to me, and I am committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring that your memories are captured flawlessly, regardless of any unforeseen circumstances.
I know your style is quite natural, but will you take formal/group photos?
Absolutely! While my style leans towards capturing natural, candid moments, I understand the importance of formal/group photos for preserving cherished memories with family and friends. I’m more than happy to accommodate your preferences and capture these special moments for you.
To ensure efficiency and minimize disruption to your day, I suggest limiting the number of different combinations of people to ten or fewer. However, I’m flexible and will gladly accommodate any additional group photos if you’ve allocated time for them in your schedule.
I’m skilled at swiftly organizing and capturing group photos, aiming to complete them within approximately 20 minutes. To streamline the process, I may suggest re-ordering the photos to optimize efficiency, and I kindly ask for your assistance in assigning an usher or someone to help gather and organize the groups.
Your satisfaction and peace of mind are my top priorities, and I’m committed to ensuring that your formal/group photos are captured seamlessly and efficiently while preserving the joy and essence of your wedding day.
Do you need to do a site visit before photographing our wedding?
While I understand the importance of familiarizing oneself with the wedding venue beforehand, I typically do not conduct site visits. The reason being that many factors that significantly impact the photographs, such as lighting conditions, are highly variable and subject to change day to day.
For instance, the quality and direction of light can vary depending on the weather, time of day, and time of year. Additionally, the surroundings and ambiance of the venue may differ, from seasonal changes in foliage to the presence of temporary structures such as catering vans.
Given my extensive experience photographing weddings, I’ve developed a keen eye for assessing venues and lighting conditions on the fly. This allows me to adapt quickly and flexibly to the environment, ensuring that I capture stunning photographs regardless of the circumstances.

What happens if you’re ill on our wedding day?

In the unlikely event that I am unable to photograph your wedding due to illness or any other emergency, rest assured that I have contingency measures in place to ensure that your special day is captured seamlessly.
As a member of several networks of photographers, I have access to a pool of talented professionals who can step in to cover in case of an emergency. These networks serve as a safety net, providing reassurance that someone experienced and capable will be available to document your wedding day, should the need arise.

We didn’t choose a package with a wedding album but we love the photos and really want an album now – is it too late?

While booking a package with a wedding album included offers the advantage of a fixed price, you can absolutely order an album at any time, even if you didn’t initially select a package that included one. Your desire to preserve and cherish your wedding memories in a beautifully crafted album is entirely understandable, and I’m here to assist you in bringing that vision to life.
I recommend considering ordering your wedding album within three months of your wedding day. From experience, I’ve found that taking action within this timeframe helps ensure that you don’t miss out on creating a tangible keepsake of your special day. After all, what a shame it would be for future generations to discover a USB stick of your wedding photos that may become obsolete with evolving technology!
