Wedding Season – summer
Venue – Marquee, West Midlands
As Herefordshire Wedding Photographers we see a huge variety of individual and unique weddings, Katie and Ben’s was no exception to the rule! I met the couple a few months before their big day to discuss their photography requirements, the most important one being that they wanted ‘no fuss’, they wanted lots of fun with a natural wedding photography style.
The venue for the wedding was to be Katie’s mums house in Herefordshire the West Midlands, which was ideal as she happens to have a beautiful house with a fantastic garden, a fabulous setting for a marquee on the lawn, a fantastic option if you have the space, although sometimes it makes the wedding preparations a bit more difficult as you are starting with a completely blank canvas, however, the final result is often worth it, as it was proved at Katie and Bens wedding.
We arrived early in the morning to photograph the wedding preparations, splitting up to cover Katie at her mum’s house and Ben at his grandparents’ house, this is exactly the style of documentary wedding photography that we like to do, to be able to cover the whole day from beginning to end and I have to say that we were made to feel very welcome as a part of this warm and friendly family from the outset.
We loved the unique touches to this wedding, including Katie’s unusual carriage to Edwyn Ralph church by way of a tractor, which I think was a first for this Midlands Wedding Photographer and was a most enjoyable form of transport for the wedding party and myself! Thankfully the weather was fantastic so we took the opportunity to take the couple for a 10-minute walk and photoshoot around the gardens and nearby forest.
Katie and Ben wanted to the theme of their wedding to be as natural as possible with no fuss, so instead of having a traditional wedding breakfast they put on a fantastic spread full of delicious cakes with the theme of Alice In Wonderland’s Mad Hatters Tea Party running throughout. For the savouries they had chosen a well-known team from Hereford Old Market called the Beefy Boys who say they provide the best burgers in the world! I can certainly vouch for that statement; the burgers were very yummy! Then came the speeches that were full of funny stories, love and good wishes for this very popular couple and afterwards there was entertainment for everyone, including games in the garden, live music and lots of dancing. Katie and Ben certainly know how to throw a party!
Katie and Ben, once again thank you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers Midlands. As usual the complete gallery of wedding photography is available to view for friends and family via online password protected gallery.
