Over the past 16 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing couples across the world, and I’ll never take that for granted. Being able to combine my two biggest passions—photography and travel—has been one of the best things that ever happened to me. Every couple that trusts me to capture their love story allows me to do what I love most, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
As an NYC engagement photographer, I find that New York City is one of those places that never fails to inspire me, and Jacqueline and Dan’s New York City engagement session was no exception. We met early in the morning, just as the city was starting to wake up. The streets near the Financial District were nearly empty—a rare sight in NYC! This gave us the perfect opportunity to take some incredible shots right in the middle of the streets, something I always love doing for pre-wedding sessions in urban settings. The contrast of quiet streets against the towering skyscrapers made for an unforgettable backdrop.
But let’s talk about the weather—because, wow, it was intense! With temperatures hitting 38°C and humidity making it feel even hotter, it was easily one of the most challenging sessions I’ve done in terms of heat. We started at 8 AM, but even that early, the city felt like an oven. I’ll admit, I was struggling a little! But Jacqueline and Dan handled it like pros, embracing every moment and making the most of our time together.
An engagement session isn’t just about getting beautiful photos—it’s also one of the best ways to prepare for your wedding day. Many couples feel a little camera-shy at first, and that’s completely normal! Having a session before the big day gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera in a relaxed, pressure-free environment. By the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll know what to expect, making the experience feel effortless and natural.
