Located in the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds, Mickleton Hills Farm is a stunning venue that perfectly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. It was the ideal location for Andy and Chloe’s unforgettable wedding day, which I had the honour of photographing.

With its beautiful surroundings and warm, welcoming atmosphere, Mickleton Hills Farm provides a truly magical setting for couples looking to celebrate their love in the Cotswolds. Capturing Andy and Chloe’s wedding day here was an absolute joy, as every moment seemed to radiate the charm and beauty of this remarkable venue.

With 16 years of experience in photographing weddings, I can confidently say that no two wedding days are ever the same. My couples continue to surprise me with the unique ways their special days unfold, and that’s truly the best part of my job. Every wedding tells its own story, reflecting the individuality of the couple, and that’s what makes each celebration so remarkable.

Cotswolds Weddings

The Cotswolds is a truly enchanting part of the UK, known for its rolling hills, honey-coloured stone cottages, and timeless charm. As a wedding photographer who has worked in this beautiful region many times, I can completely understand why so many couples choose the Cotswolds as their wedding destination. Its natural beauty and historic character create the perfect backdrop for unforgettable celebrations.

From quaint villages to grand estates, the Cotswolds is home to an array of spectacular wedding venues, each with its own unique charm. Mickleton Hills Farm is one such gem—a venue that embodies the rustic elegance and warm hospitality this area is renowned for. It’s always a joy to capture weddings in this remarkable setting and share in the magic that the Cotswolds has to offer.

The day began with Andy and his groomsmen getting ready in The Wool Store, one of the charming on-site cottages at Mickleton Hills Farm, while Chloe prepared in the elegant Bridal Suite. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement as everyone got ready for the big day. Once they were ready, we made our way to the stunning 18th-century Grain Barn for the ceremony. One of the most beautiful and emotional moments was watching Chloe be escorted down the aisle by her dad—a memory that will surely be cherished forever.

After the ceremony, we set up a confetti tunnel on the terrace, which was a fantastic moment filled with laughter and celebration. Guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés while soaking up the lovely weather, allowing us to capture some family group shots outdoors. Later, I had the pleasure of taking Andy and Chloe for a quick walk around the venue to capture some intimate portraits. The picturesque surroundings of Mickleton Hills Farm made for the perfect backdrop to document their love and connection.

It was soon time for the wedding breakfast and speeches, held in the beautiful, newly built oak-framed Dining Barn. This stunning space provided a warm and inviting atmosphere for the celebrations to continue. I always enjoy capturing these natural moments—the heartfelt words of the speakers and the genuine reactions of the guests. My photography style is all about being natural and unobtrusive, allowing my couples to fully immerse themselves in their day while I document it in a relaxed and authentic way.

As the sun began to set over the hills, I couldn’t resist stealing the Bride and Groom away once more. Golden hour is truly magical, and I’m absolutely obsessed with the soft, warm light it provides. It’s the perfect time to capture some additional portraits, and Andy and Chloe were more than happy to step away for a few moments to soak in the beauty of the evening. These golden hour portraits are always some of my favourites, as the light adds a romantic and timeless quality to the images.

One delightful surprise Andy and Chloe had planned for their guests was a spectacular fireworks display. Watching the night sky light up in a burst of colours was an unforgettable moment for everyone. After the display, we made our way to the terrace, where guests were treated to some utterly amazing pizza—a perfect addition to the evening celebrations. The night continued with the traditional first dance, followed by absolute mayhem on the dance floor as everyone let loose and celebrated to their heart’s content. It was the perfect ending to an incredible day.

I would absolutely love the opportunity to return to Mickleton Hills Farm and capture more beautiful celebrations at this stunning Cotswolds wedding venue. If you’re planning your Mickleton Hills Farm wedding and are looking for a wedding photographer who will document your day in a natural and authentic way, I’d be thrilled to hear from you.
