Situated a few miles from Hereford in Herefordshire is the stunning grade II listed Dewsall Court Country House, set in 12 acres of landscaped gardens including a lake and arboretum with spectacular views to the Black Mountains, plus all the facilities within the grounds for marriage services, accommodation, wedding breakfasts and evening parties, makes for a very special wedding day, so when we met Laura and Alex a few weeks prior to their marriage, we were delighted to hear that they had chosen this venue for all of their celebrations and for us to be their Dewsall Court Wedding Photographers.
On the morning of the big day, Laura and Alex made use of the luxurious country house for their wedding preparations; we were able to photograph both bride and groom separately as there were two of us on hand which is normally the case, we like to tell the whole story from the morning preparations all the way through to the end of the evening.
With preparations complete, groom already at the church, the wedding guests and finally the bride made their way to the beautiful rustic church situated within the grounds, St Michael’s and All Angels where the marriage ceremony was held.
After the ceremony the guests and happy couple made their way back through the gardens to the conservatory at Dewsall Court for cocktails and canapes, the couple own a cider company, so an apple theme was given to the table settings and decorations which were really special and very unique as Laura had made and designed them all herself.
Refreshed after celebratory drinks and nibbles, friends and family gathered outside to take in some mild fresh air, whilst Alex and Laura strolled through the arboretum and landscaped gardens, a Dewsall Court Wedding is an ideal choice, the late autumnal colours of the leaves still on the tree’s, the lakeside setting and picturesque grounds provided opportunities for some great photo’s, as you can see they really do make a handsome couple!
We then moved on to the Wainhouse Barn which is also in the grounds of Dewsall Court, where although the quickly fading light of the late autumn day may not have been ideal situation from a wedding photographers point of view, it made for some interesting atmospheric shots. Laura had gone to town with her apple theme and the barn made a fantastic setting for the wedding breakfast and speeches, which were so delightful, funny, moving and witty.
With formalities over it was time to party, the gardens twinkled with night lights and guests lit sparklers, it really was a very enchanting scene. Laura and Alex are such a relaxed and lovely couple, they made our work as Hereford Wedding Photographers very easy, they even shared the first dance of their lives together with their friends and family. One of the reasons I love being a wedding photographer is that each one is unique, Laura and Alex’s was certainly that! What a beautiful day, congratulations Laura and Alex!
