There are many wedding venues up and down the UK to choose from, whether it’s a castle, stately home or grand hotel. However if you are looking for an informal venue with plenty of character surrounded by stunning countryside that is renowned for fabulous food, then look no further than the grade II listed Y Talbot Hotel in Tregaron Ceredigion Wales. It was with great pleasure that we revisited this venue a second time for the marriage between Tina and Phil, although finding Tina at her Nan’s cottage on the Hafod Estate near Aberystwyth on the morning of the big day to take photographs of her wedding preparations proved a little challenging to say the least, as the reception for mobile phones was non-existent and even satnav was confused!
Meanwhile, back at the hotel, the groom was also having photos taken of his wedding preparations and soon the time had arrived for the wedding party to make their way to Hafod Church which was just 2 minutes from Tina’s nan’s cottage, this also proved tricky as the bus hired to take family and friends to the church struggled to get through the narrow lanes.
Eventually everyone made it to the church on time, even the rain stopped and the sun was shining, the little church was filled with beaming friends and family. As a Wedding Photographer in Wales it is unusual to be able to take pictures during the service, however as we had worked with the Vicar in the past we were granted that privilege. After the service Tina and Phil wanted to include an element to their special day that no one would ever forget, so as the couple love walking and mountain climbing, the wedding party went to Devil’s Bridge which is famous for its walks and stunning waterfalls, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and of course for us it was a great opportunity to take some unique photographs.
At the Hotel family and friends were treated to a warm welcome and a fabulous wedding breakfast, the food really was delicious! The day had been very moving and even I shed a few tears when the speeches were given, especially when Tina gave hers!
I have been a Y Talbot Hotel Wedding Photographer once before, however this wedding party really knew how to have fun, after the wedding breakfast everyone let their hair down, the bride and groom set the pace with their dance moves and soon the whole Hotel was alive with very ecstatic happy wedding revellers. What an absolutely fantastic day, we wish Tina and Phil a very long and happy life together.
Thank you Tina and Phil for choosing me to be your Wales wedding photographer.
