Ryan & Georgia’s Foxtail Barns Wedding
Hey there, fellow love enthusiasts! Grab a cuppa and settle in, because I’ve got a tale to tell that’ll warm your heart right up. A sprawling estate tucked away in one of Staffordshire’s most enchanting corners, boasting not just natural beauty, but a brand-new barn wedding venue to boot – that’s Foxtail Barns for you! And let me tell you, folks, it’s the stuff wedding dreams are made of.
So, here’s the scoop: Ryan and Georgia, a couple so head-over-heels in love, they’re practically floating on cloud nine. When they asked me to be their trusty Foxtail Barns wedding photographer, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I mean, who wouldn’t jump at the chance to capture such a beautiful love story in such a picturesque setting?
Now, a little backstory: I’m based in Herefordshire, West Midlands, which meant a bit of a trek to get to Stoke-on-Trent for the festivities. But let me tell you, it was worth every mile. I like to play it safe, so I made sure to head out the night before to ensure I’d be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed come wedding day. And boy, oh boy, was I in for a treat when I arrived.
Foxtail Barns exceeded all my expectations and then some. From the moment I set foot on the grounds, I was greeted with a sense of rustic charm and serenity that just can’t be replicated. And with the sun shining down and birds serenading us from the treetops, the stage was set for a day filled with nothing but love, laughter, and pure magic.

Having photographed weddings in Staffordshire numerous times in the past, stepping into Foxtail Barns felt like a whole new adventure. I’ve traveled far and wide, snapping photos of lovebirds tying the knot in all sorts of magical settings. So when Ryan and Georgia chose Foxtail Barns as their wedding venue, I was eager to add another chapter to my photography journey. And let me tell you, folks, it did not disappoint. Arriving a good three hours before the ceremony, as is my usual MO, I took the opportunity to soak in every inch of this breathtaking venue. From the rustic charm of the barns to the lush greenery surrounding the estate, every corner seemed to whisper tales of romance just waiting to unfold. But what truly stole my heart was the serene beauty of the area – a perfect canvas for capturing love in all its glory.
As the excitement of the big day began to unfold, Ryan and his groomsmen embarked on their pre-wedding preparations in style. Nestled amidst the enchanting surroundings of Foxtail Barns were the ultra-cool Woodland Pods, serving as the perfect setting for Ryan and his crew to suit up. Bathed in the warm glow of the sun, they embraced the opportunity to don their finest attire on the Pod’s decking, surrounded by the crisp, fresh air of the countryside.
Meanwhile, across the estate, Georgia and her squad were busy with their own preparations in the main bridal suite of the venue’s main building. Conveniently located just steps away from the ceremony room, this spacious and elegant suite provided the ideal backdrop for the bridal party to primp and pamper themselves to perfection. With everything they needed at their fingertips, from ample space to move around to easy access to the ceremony room, it was a stress-free oasis for the bride and her bridesmaids.
But perhaps the greatest advantage of this setup was the convenience it offered to everyone involved in the wedding, including us wedding suppliers. With less travel time between getting ready locations, there was more time to focus on capturing every precious moment of the day. Plus, with everyone in close proximity, it fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared excitement as the anticipation for the ceremony mounted.
The moment arrived, bathed in the soft glow of daylight filtering through the glass roof of the orangery at Foxtail Barns. As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t help but marvel at the dreamy ambiance created by the abundance of natural light – a true blessing for capturing those timeless moments.
Ryan and Georgia’s ceremony was nothing short of magical. Picture this: as the bride walked down the aisle, her beloved dog trotted alongside the bridesmaids, adding an extra touch of love and warmth to the proceedings. It was a heartwarming sight, captured forever in the frames of my camera.
Following the “I do’s,” the newlyweds were greeted with cheers and laughter as guests formed a beautiful confetti tunnel. But this wasn’t your ordinary confetti toss – oh no. Ryan’s RAF military colleagues stood proudly at the front of the tunnel, dressed in their uniforms and wielding sabers, creating a truly majestic scene that spoke volumes about the couple’s journey and the love and support surrounding them.
As the celebrations continued into the drinks reception, the air was filled with the sweet strains of live music, courtesy of a talented guitarist. It was the perfect backdrop for snapping candid shots of guests mingling and sharing in the joy of the newlyweds’ special day.

As the sun began to set on the picturesque grounds of Foxtail Barns, it was time to transition to the next phase of the festivities. With hearts full of love and laughter, guests made their way back to the party barn, ready for an evening filled with heartfelt speeches, delicious fare, and, of course, plenty of dancing.
The atmosphere crackled with anticipation as friends and family gathered to hear the heartfelt words shared during the speeches. Laughter and tears flowed freely as loved ones recounted cherished memories and toasted to the newlyweds’ future happiness.
And then, it was time to feast. As plates were filled with delectable delights, conversation buzzed and glasses clinked in celebration. From the first bite to the last, every morsel was savored, adding to the sense of joy and camaraderie that filled the air.
But let’s talk about the dancing – because these guys knew how to party! With a DJ and saxophonist in tow, the dance floor was transformed into a whirlwind of music and movement. I’ll admit, I always get goosebumps when the DJ and sax player play in perfect harmony, especially when the saxophonist wanders among the guests, adding an extra layer of magic to the festivities.
As the summer evening unfolded, we eagerly awaited the arrival of the golden hour – that magical time when the sun bathes everything in its warm, golden light. Keeping a watchful eye on the light, I knew the moment was right to steal the couple away from the dance floor for a few precious minutes. And let me tell you, folks, those sunset photos against the backdrop of Consall Hall gardens? Pure perfection.
Before we wrap things up, I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for Best Day Ever venues. From Foxtail Barns to every other venue they manage, each one is a testament to their dedication to excellence. Not only are the venues themselves impressive, but the staff and wedding planners are second to none, with years of experience ensuring that every couple’s special day is nothing short of spectacular.
