Wedding season – spring
Venue – Millers Of Netley
Many couples choose a documentary photography style approach to capture those special moments on their wedding day, so when Emma & Ben came across our website they knew we would be a good match for each other. They wanted us to capture the day in a photojournalistic manner from start to finish and to also photograph the traditional bride and groom portraits, family and group shots. The couple had chosen The Millers of Netley in Shropshire for their wedding venue and the secluded Lake House which is set apart from the house and marquee for their wedding night. This was ideal for Emma and Ben as both their parent’s homes are in Shrewsbury which is close enough to the venue for them to prepare for their special day.
As documentary wedding photographers, we like to capture the whole day from start to finish, with one photographer with the bride and one with the groom for the wedding preparations. I was with the bride’s party and with all the final touches completed to hair, make-up and dresses, the bridal party and family climbed aboard a single decker bus! However, this was no ordinary bus as you can see in the pictures and we made our way to the church for the wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, the family continued to the venue on the bus, whilst the Bride and Groom chose a vintage car as their mode of transport. The Millers of Netley in Dorrington Shrewsbury Shropshire, is an idyllic spot nestled into the surrounding countryside of Shropshire where the venue consists of a most elegant marquee catering for up to 250 guests.
During the reception drinks party, we took Emma and Ben for a little walk around the grounds to take a few creative portraits of the newlyweds, there are so many beautiful spots for photos around the venue, which is a perfect backdrop for a Midlands Wedding Photographer with views of the Wrekin, Caradoc and Lawley hills, as well as an enchanting lake with its magical fountain. The weather was perfect, so guests took the opportunity to enjoy drinks outside and to play games including croquet!
Soon it was time for the speeches in the marquee which looked stunning, The Millers of Netley can cater for any style and will supply top rated caterers and personalised décor if you wish. The speeches were full of love and warmth for the happy couple with many funny stories told about their lives, it was very emotional, not a dry eye in the house! With the speeches over it was time to cut the cake and continue with celebrating the marriage of Emma and Ben accompanied by a live band to help family and guests to dance the night away. What a wonderful day had by all, thank you so much Emma and Ben for choosing us as your Millers of Netley wedding photographers.
