Wedding season – summer
Venue – Woodland Tipis & Yurts
Reportage wedding photography with a relaxed style is often a requirement for couples wanting to ‘tie the knot’ these days, as was the case for Megan and Daniel, so when they got in touch and asked us to be their Herefordshire wedding photographers we were delighted, as we love this style of photography alongside a documentary photography approach, natural candid photo’s capturing the moments and memories for couples to treasure forever.
Megan and Daniel both live and work in the Cayman Islands, however they decided to host their wedding back in the UK as Megan is originally from Herefordshire, West Midlands, so this meant lots of skyping between us as they had to make all their wedding plans from abroad. The couple wanted a non-traditional DIY wedding reception and the venue that they chose for their special day – Woodland Tipis & Yurts in Little Dewchurch Herefordshire was perfect for them; it has been quoted as being ‘a magical paradise’ which we absolutely confirm to be true, also very accessible with Hereford train station being just 5 miles away. The big day arrived and the wedding preparations got underway, with Megan in the morning at her mum’s house having her make-up done by our favourite local make-up artist Brook Price from Beauty Luxe Pro and then driven by chauffeur in a Beauford Classic Car to All Saints Church in Brockhampton set in beautiful countryside high above the river Wye for the wedding ceremony, Megan looked absolutely stunning in her unique wedding dress. The weather was glorious being the hottest day of the year, with temperatures reaching 34 C! even my iPhone found it difficult to work in such conditions and stopped working, the message on the screen saying ‘iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it’! After the ceremony at All Saints Church, we all drove back to the Woodland Tipi & Yurts where family & guests were treated to reception drinks and fabulous food, during which time I took the opportunity to take a few portrait shots of the bride and groom in the woods. Megan and Daniel had the speeches made and cutting of the cake untraditionally outdoors, making the most of the beautiful setting of the enchanting woodland, we absolutely love non-traditional weddings! This was a Midlands Wedding Photographers dream come true! With the ceremony and reception over it was time for more music, fun and games in the woodland setting, followed by the first dance with Megan and Daniel accompanied by a massive explosion of brilliant white confetti!
Megan and Daniel, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your special day. Once again thank you for choosing us to be your West Midlands wedding photographers. As usual the complete gallery of wedding photography is available to view for friends and family via online password protected gallery.
