Stone Barn Wedding, The Cotswolds – Emily + Matt

Wedding season – autumn

Venue – Stone Barn

Each wedding is different, we find that couples always have their own unique ideas and plans for their special day, such was the case with Emily and Matt who had chosen Stone Barn in the heart of the Cotswolds near Aldsworth as their venue and ourselves to shoot unposed wedding photography.

As Cotswold Wedding Photographers we often get to meet the bride and groom before the big day, however when we arrived at Stone Barn it was the first time that we had met Emily and Matt, who were so welcoming and friendly. The venue is everything you would imagine a barn for weddings to be, with its flag stone floors, wooden beams and a very impressive open fireplace. The Stone Barn is where the civil ceremonies take place and the evening celebrations, adjoining the room are Dutch Barns with polished oak floors, these Barns are used for dining and contain the biggest barbecue I’ve ever seen! This venue is so private, all you can see are the magnificent Cotswold Hills without another building in sight.

On a wedding day, we usually visit a few venues, starting with early morning preps with the bride and groom to be at separate locations, then perhaps a church, then on to a venue for the celebrations, Emily and Matt had decided to get ready for their wedding at Cotswold Park Barns in Cirencester not far from the Stone Barn.

With the wedding preparations over it was time to make our way to Aldsworth for the ceremony where the family, friends and guests and a nervous handsome groom were waiting for Emily to make her entrance.  She looked absolutely beautiful and was followed by her stunning four bridesmaids.

After the very touching and emotional service the wedding party were invited to celebratory drinks which most enjoyed inside the barn as unfortunately that day it was extremely windy, however I did take the opportunity to take the couple outside for a little photoshoot, then it was back to the Cotswold Wedding Venue for some more photos with the family.

The Dutch Barn already had the tables laid and was ready to receive the wedding party and guests for the wedding breakfast and speeches, which were very witty and full of warmth and love for this very special couple. Afterwards there was a break in proceedings and guests enjoyed more drinks whilst the Stone Barn was cleared and prepared for the evenings party which started off with the traditional first dance, however there was nothing traditional about this happy couple as they took the dance floor by storm and showed off their amazing dance moves!

As usual the complete gallery of wedding photography is available to view for friends and family via online password protected gallery.
