Wedding season – summer
Venue – Hellens Manor
As Herefordshire Wedding Photographers, we get to meet some fantastic brides and grooms to be, which always makes a wedding day super special for us. Shelley and Ian had booked us 3 years in advance so we were excited to meet them a few weeks before their special day to photograph their engagement session and to discuss their plans in more detail, what a wonderful couple!
Shelley and Ian had chosen Hellens Manor as the venue and ourselves as their official Hellens Manor Wedding Photographers. Situated in Much Marcle Herefordshire, the Manor house dates back to 1096 and has exclusively only 10 weddings a year and St Mary’s Church in Dymock for the official marriage ceremony. On the day of the wedding Shelley had chosen to get ready at the fabulous Feathers Hotel in Ledbury, whilst Ian was at his parent house in Hereford preparing for the big day.
The weather was absolutely glorious, it could not have been better as the groom, family and guests gathered at St Mary’s Church in readiness for the bride who made her arrival in a beautiful Lord Edgar – 1986 Plum & Custard Citroen 2CV Dolly. With the ceremony over the newly married couple made their way through a confetti tunnel and on to Hellens Manor, where the celebrations continued. During the reception drinks, we took the opportunity to take Shelley and Ian away from their guests for a walk around the gardens for a few portrait shots then it was back to the barn for the wedding breakfast full of emotional and funny speeches, there were a few times the groom had his head in his hands! Later on that evening the guests were treated to traditional ‘fish & chips’ then it was time for dancing with Shelley and Ian having (in their words) the first awkward dance! Much merriment was had by all including the appearance on the dance floor of ‘absinthe’, which everyone was dutifully bound to partake of!
A tremendous amount of planning had gone into this wedding to ensure that everyone had a super fun and relaxed day, mostly the wedding party spent the time in the beautiful garden outside the barn in the orchards playing games, drinking and having fun, there was even a photo booth to entertain the guests and a surprise guest, unbeknown to Ian an old school friend of his made an appearance as a hypnogician – http://www.hypnogician.co.uk/. Flowers were provided by our super talented friend Kat from Bamboo – The flower gallery but mostly Shelley had made all the decorations herself including personalised peg dolls of all the family, friends and guests which could be taken home at the end of the day as wonderful memory of Shelley and Ian’s wedding day.
As usual the complete gallery of wedding photography is available to view for friends and family via online password protected gallery.
